Economic activity is focused in several different areas.

Industrial activity is targeted to the rail corridor near 33rd Street and new buildings on North Avenue. Major employers, however, are north and south of the neighborhood.

Business activity is targeted for larger scale development along North Avenue, especially at 35th and North and for more entrepreneurial activity along Vliet and in the "Uptown" community at North and Lisbon.
