New Edition of Nonprofit Almanac Offers Detailed Portrait of an Expanding Sector

The Almanac was last published in 2002 by Independent Sector.

The Nonprofit Almanac 2008, by Kennard T. Wing, Thomas H. Pollak, and Amy Blackwood, is available from the Urban Institute Press (paper, 9" x 11", 270 pages, ISBN 978-0-87766-736-0, $39.50).

Summer School Opportunity at UWM: Professionals and Volunteers in Nonprofit Organizations

May 29— Second Annual Conference: Succession Planning: Securing Your Organization's Future
The conference, offered by the Executive Transitions Initiative, is designed for executive directors, management staff and board members of nonprofit organizations, to learn about organizational sustainability through the lens of succession planning practices.

June 5—Accepting the Racial Equity Challenge
The Nonprofit Center’s 2008 conference, co-sponsored by YWCA Greater Milwaukee, is an exciting opportunity for nonprofit leaders, staff and volunteers to learn what it takes to make racial equity a reality and an essential element of governance, programs and outcomes.

June 10—Wisconsin Nonprofits Association Summit: “Common Ground for Common Good”
Keynote speakers at the summit in Madison, WI, include Paul Light, renowned expert on public service and nonprofit management, and Pat Read, Senior Vice President of Policy and Government Affairs at Independent Sector. Check the WNA website for more information.
