Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee Convenes Critical Issue Forums Focusing on the Economy
This series is intended to address the issues and opportunities to the local nonprofit sector as a result of recent economic shifts. National economic changes will increase demand for nonprofit services, and at the same time affect resources available to the sector, calling for creative organizational responses. Both sessions are free, “brown bag” events.

Forum on the Nonprofit Sector: Beyond the Bottom Line: Understanding and Promoting Nonprofit Financial Sustainability, with Woods Bowman
December 4, 8:30-11 am
Sponsored by the Helen Bader Institute for Nonprofit Management at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in partnership with the Donors Forum of Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Center for Independence, this forum will review concepts of nonprofit financial performance, focusing on the recent work of scholars who are adapting principles used by for-profits to benefit the nonprofit sector. Woods Bowman, a nationally known scholar with expertise in nonprofit finance, is the featured presenter.

When critical relationships between funders and their grantees are at their best, both sides learn from each other and their work achieves greater impact.
