This is a comprehensive review of statistics, studies and trends regarding the arts locally and across the country. The publication outlines strengths and weaknesses regarding Milwaukee's Arts and Cultural sector. The publication makes recommendations and gives implementation suggestions regarding how to fend off possible problems and how to strengthen Milwaukee's Arts and Culture Sector. Suggestions include: 1) forming a non profit lobbying organization to improve arts funding, 2) establishing a comprehensive grass roots campaign to increase arts funding, 3) improving the use of media and coordinating the media relations efforts of the individual arts groups, 4) establishing an arts service agency to provide necessary services common to all arts organizations, 5) Utilize the Pabst Theater to showcase unique artists from across the nation and throughout the world. 6) Better coordination and promotion of the International Arts Festival, which encourages the different area arts & cultural groups to showcase works from a featured ethnic group.
