In Wisconsin, almost 1.5 million adults have arthritis. As baby boomers age, the number of people with this potentially disabling condition is expected to increase dramatically by 2020. Using the Wisconsin Arthritis Action Plan as a guide, partners statewide will work together to understand the burden of arthritis, to increase arthritis awareness and to launch programs and strategies to decrease its social and medical costs. The state plan follows and supports the guidelines of the national Arthritis Action Plan.
