This article reports on a study of victim-offender mediation in four sites with juvenile offenders and their victims, along with related studies. The paper points out a number of unresolved issues in the criminal justice system, presents the underlying principles of restorative justice, and reviews the growing amount of empirical data on victim-offender mediation.
