In April, 1997 the Project for Research on Welfare, Work, and Domestic Violence (a collaborative project
of the Taylor Institute and the University of Michigan Research Development Center on Poverty, Risk and Mental Health) released Trapped by Poverty/Trapped by Abuse, a research compilation containing new evidence documenting the relationship between domestic violence and welfare.
This supplement is the first in a series of semi-annual updates to the Trapped report. This update contains cutting edge research in the field of domestic violence and welfare receipt from Colorado, Utah, and Illinois. Also highlighted is The Family Violence Option: An Early Assessment, a report that provides an overview of domestic violence prevalence data gathered by Taylor Institute as part of a state by state review of the implementation of the Family Violence Option allowed under federal welfare reform. |
