Wisconsin taxpayers will be asked to pay over $4 billion in the next 15 years for services such as transportation, public works, public safety, education, culture, recreation and government for the 400,000 new state residents. As the chart below shows, Wisconsin governments could save over $25 million each year by curbing sprawl and promoting compact development.

Huddleston estimates the cost difference between low density sprawl development and high density contained development at $400 million over 15 years– or $25 million per year.
