The Quality Highways: Key Preservation Needs on Wisconsin’s State Highway System study assesses issues pertaining to the Wisconsin Freeway System and particularly Milwaukee County. It also discusses the various factors policy makers need to take into account when deciding on the design of reconstruction. Many details are reported, but some of the major findings include that on average 16,800 vehicles travel on Milwaukee county freeways daily which is almost triple the amount of vehicles traveling on freeways outside of this area in Wisconsin. In addition, there is an overall accident rate for the Marquette Interchange of 4.5 accidents per million miles of vehicle travel.
